MN: Milan make Taremi their priority as new talks are opened with Porto

By Isak Möller -

After completing the signing of Tijjani Reijnders AC Milan have made Mehdi Taremi their No.1 target for the attack and have opened new talks with Porto in recent days, a report claims.

Milan need a new striker ahead of the upcoming season as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has retired and Olivier Giroud cannot play every game from start to finish. After dropping the pursuits of Gianluca Scamacca and Alvaro Morata, they are now focused on Taremi.

According to Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, Milan have made Taremi their No.1 choice for the attack and have opened new talks with Porto. They are aiming to lower the €20m demand and there appears to be room for negotiation.

The Porto striker scored 27 goals in the Portuguese league and Champions League last season. At the age of 30, he’s a very experienced player and he doesn’t rely on his pace either, similar to someone like Edin Dzeko.

    1. No funds.. If you want for a young fast striker to be bought someone will need to be sold. I for one dont want them to sell. maybe Tomori for a nice sum. But nobody wants Tomori. I wonder why

    2. Young fast?? Our system relies on a big strong striker, Taremi is perfect who has a ton of experience

If every player in the squad is young that squad has weak mentality

        1. No champions league experience, no big game experience. We need more winners in the squad.

Huge differences between the two players

last season we crumbled under pressure, we need strong mentality players to rise up, few signings like Pulisic (played CL, played a crucial part in winning it even) and Taremi (tons of experience at the top) will be crucial.

          1. Yeah, Pulisic and winner mentality do not go into the same sentence. You can’t make this up, you seriously wrote that. 😂😂😂😂

P.S. In that CL where he was a crucial part he played 420 minutes and only 30 were good. Crucial.

  1. The best option for a striker of the realistic names Milan has been connected with this summer.
Very similar playing style to Harry Kane.

  2. Milan has no business trying to buy Taremi, I have watched him several times for club and country, he is not the type of striker we need and age is not on his side. If he is the striker we are after, we might as well keep Colombo as an understudy with regular opportunities as a sub.

  3. Perhaps maybe they want colombo learn from giroud & taremi ,both are experience striker. But ACM need to offload origi too

    1. Perhaps, but Taremi’s age is on the wrong side of his career if he joins Milan. Are we struggling to attract and pay for a center forward just under 25 or about?…that would make sense…for now and the future. Hopefully, forming a future strike partnership with Colombo and the rest of our attacking players.

      1. Why is Colombo, somebody we are likely going to loan out again, even a name we’re considering? He played regularly for Lecce and struggled to score even 5 goals. Even Messias did better than he did.
