MN: 2-3 names targeted by AC Milan for the attacking midfielder role – Ilicic a ‘last gasp’ option

By Nikita Fesyukov -

AC Milan continue their transfer market campaign without a rush. The club management is currently working on several fronts, but the biggest priority seems to be the acquisition of a new attacking midfielder to replace Hakan Calhanoglu.

In the past couple of weeks, many names have been linked to the Rossoneri by the media, from more costly options like Isco and Sabitzer to potential low-cost operations like James Rodriguez or Josip Ilicic.

In the last couple of hours, Josip Ilicic’s name seems to be the hottest in circulation, with the newest development being that Atalanta are open to letting the Slovenian go on loan.

However, as reported by Milannews.it‘s Antonio Vitiello on Twitter, the club is currently targeting 2-3 other names for the attacking midfielder/right-winger position.

Vitiello adds that if the management will not be able to close a deal for any of these players, they will attempt to close the Ilicic deal at low-cost figures, with the player very eager to join the Rossoneri.
