MN: Adli was furious after Milan’s friendly against Barcelona – the background

By Isak Möller -

Yacine Adli has worked very hard in the last year and a half to win over the trust of AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli. Now he has it, but the journey wasn’t easy for the midfielder, as a report points out.

As a result of Rade Krunic’s injury, Adli finally got his chance in the No.6 role, having worked in that position since the summer. So far, he has done well and has managed to gain the trust of Pioli.

According to MilanNews, Adli has more or less always kept his head down, working harder in adversity. However, after the friendly against Barcelona in the summer, he had a ‘genuine outburst’ in the tunnel on his way to the locker room.

Even though it was just a friendly, and with a lot of rotation as well, Pioli left Adli on the bench for the entire game. One can certainly understand the midfielder’s reaction, therefore, and it should be noted that he quickly got back to working hard after the incident.

  1. He his with us almost three season but we already know that the pioli don’t like him and even now he is playing him because pioli don’t have choice, and I’m sure he will be one of our best player if given chance

  2. It’s very strange how he has been treated.
Alway’s shows ability and good attitude.

How on earth last season he never got a chance as AM i will never know, given CDK was completely invisible.
In the handful of games Adli has had he has shown much more than CDK ever did

    1. there were other players treated this way last year as well. but were either loans or they could sell. Florenzi, Vranchx, Dest never got consecutive starts. Adli made a bad mistake in that first game (and against Dortmund). Id like to think Pioli has evolved but its probably just because of injuries that he got another shot.

      1. “Adli made a bad mistake in that first game”

SHOCKING! A player who basically hasn’t played for over a year finally gets to play and makes ONE mistake. Obviously he’s not destined to be a footballer, right? 😀

Let’s be honest… He hasn’t been stellar. He hasn’t been awful either. But he has been “pretty good”. And the potential he has… ENORMOUS! Unlike with Krunic. He’s not getting any better nor more creative. Give Adli minutes and he’ll turn into a superstar.

  3. He was treating unbelievably unfair by Pioli. It was not that he started performing recently. He was one of the best player in the pre season campaign last year. But Pioli has something against the boy, i wouldn’t be suprise if he will be back to the bench once Krunic is back. Krunic made mistake every match he played but Pioli doesn’t care anyway
