There were two renewal announcements today involving players that AC Milan have big plans for in the future, with Fillipo Scotti and Davide Bartesaghi penning three-year deals.
MilanNews focus on the Bartesaghi, the left-back who made his debut in Serie A in the home match against Hellas Verona which ended in a 1-0 win thanks to Rafael Leao’s goal in the opening 10 minutes.
The season has started well for the 17-year-old. First came the call-up for the USA summer tour by Stefano Pioli which was a clear sign of wanting to watch a player that Ignazio Abate had earmarked for his physical and technical skills.
Standing at more than 1.90m tall, Bartesaghi is a natural full-back but if necessary he can also be used as a central defender, given his imposing height and therefore the possibility of winning both ground and aerial duels.
He will turn 18 on 29 December and he has so far amassed 21 minutes of action Serie A in the games against Hellas Verona and Cagliari, proving to be a valid alternative to Theo Hernandez, who is on four yellow cards and will be banned when he gets one more.
Bartesaghi is a reserved and professional young man who knows he has a big chance to make it at the club he grew up supporting. Playing for Milan has always been his dream since he was a child, but it will be necessary to work hard to hold onto it.
