It has been confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sustained a problem with his calf muscle and his season could therefore be over, a report claims.
According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Ibrahimovic underwent a scan to understand the extent of the muscle problem that he sustained while warming up before he was set to come on during the 2-0 win over Lecce on Sunday.
The outcome is as feared, with the Swede suffering a lesion to the medial twin muscle of the right calf. The report adds that it ‘could put an end to Zlatan’s season’ because the calf is a delicate muscle and rushing is not an option.
Further updates will arrive in the coming days and weeks on his estimated recovery time and also no doubt on whether or not we might have seen the last of Zlatan in a Milan shirt, given his deal runs out in June.
