There was yet more positive renewal news for AC Milan today as the announcement of Chaka Traore’s contract extension was made official.
As MilanNews writes, Traore has signed a contract until June 2028. It is an important renewal for Milan because of the talent the winger possesses, as shown by the 8 goals and 6 assists in 30 games he got last season.
The Ivorian was a big part of the side that made it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League for the first time in their history, with Ignazio Abate utilising him almost always on the left wing.
Chaka thanked the club for their faith on social media too, writing: “I’m really grateful to Milan for the renewal. Very happy and proud to continue in this club. Forza Milan.”
His growth process does not necessarily foresee a passage straight into the first team coached by Stefano Pioli, despite the fact he has been following him with interest during the season.
The teenager still has to grow and improve from many points of view, and for this reason it cannot be excluded that in the coming years he could go out on loan to be able to get experience in a senior environment and become more consistent.

Actually the only players M&M brought independently, were CDK, Malik, Vranckx, and Dest. Before the last summer they were working in a team (much like its done now) and Gazidis had to sign off on every transfer. Only thing Maldini found was Messias, because he watched his sons game and saw Messias playing in Serie D. He later stated he believed right away that Messias was wasted in Serie D.
Only time M&M made any kind of independent decision and can take all the credit for payers brought was last mercato. And it went brilliantly. Luckily they quit before they stuck Milan with Arnautovic and god knows what other horror.

Buddy that’s what the scouts do, Moncada and Aubameyang when he was also still there, not the sporting director, the scouts get the profiles and the Sporting Director makes the decision. That’s how football works, unless you’re Sir Alex Ferguson who was in control of everything including the funds.

Potentially Leao’s replacement in 2-3 years when Leao is sold, precisely when Leao’s new contract will be up for renewal (no way we can afford the next one). So Leao will be sold for 150m or whatever it is at that point and hopefully Chaka will be able to step up and the money can be spent where needed and/or buying the next crop of 18 year olds.
