MN: Chelsea midfielder to join Milan but the formula has altered – two-year renewal involved

AC Milan have secured the return of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on more advantageous terms than first thought, reports claim.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Bakayoko will land in Milano either Friday evening or Saturday morning, but first he will renew his contract with Chelsea until June 2024. After doing that, he will move to the Rossoneri with the formula of a two-year paid loan with an option to buy which becomes an obligation under certain conditions.

Radio Rossonera are also reporting the same news that Bakayoko will sign a new two-year extension with the Blues and then join on a loan with option to buy that can become an obligation – a slightly different formula than the initial one-year loan with option to buy that was reported widely.

According to Sky Italia’s Manuele Baiocchini, the 26-year-old’s move to Milan will be a two-year loan deal with option to buy for €15m. This has also been confirmed by MilanNews.
