MN: Chief of Staff James Murray to leave Milan and return to England

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will have to find a new Chief of Staff as James Murray is set to leave the role in order to return to England, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Murray will leave his role as Chief of Staff at Milan for the past four years in order to accept a new professional opportunity in the Premier League.

Murray arrived in Milan in March 2019 and worked closely with Ivan Gazidis during the club’s resurgence under Elliott Management. Also driven by family reasons, Murray received an offer from England and decided to return home.

Murray was Head of Business Strategy at Arsenal for five years prior to joining the Rossoneri, and he leaves Milan having achieved very positive results and being held in very high regard by the current ownerships.

The destination he has chosen to accept is not yet known but should soon be made public.

  1. Wow by the end of this summer we’ll have an almost entire new set of directors (or whatever these people do) and we’ll have changed half the first team squad.

I’d hate to see what they’d done if we had made it the Champions League final!

    1. I suppose that, you wish us to stick with Origi, Rebic, Messias and CDK etc so that we play Conference League next season? After all they are vital cog in our system, and we are replacing them..

      1. I’d be more interested in getting to the bottom of why these players (except for maybe Messias) didn’t perform at a higher level.

Because if we don’t find the answer to that question then the same might happen to the new signings.

        1. You want to know, why these players didn’t perform at a higher level?

          So here it is:

Rebic scored crucial goals in first two seasons, and he was regular starter.. He has been declining, since past two seasons, because injuries hindered his progress.. Else he would’ve been a key player!

Origi, was a sub at Liverpool.. He barely started in Liverpool! It is not that, he was a world class player in Liverpool..

CDK, was in his comfort zone in Brugge and was treated as a golden boy, plus he was living with his family.. In Milan it’s totally different atmosphere!

    2. He is leaving for family reasons. I hate to see him go.

It’s because of people like this that we are out of crises.

The present management hold him in high esteem but maybe he is home seek.

      Thank you Murray.

      1. I was being harsh.

This is understandable, and yes we thank him for his service.

I do wonder why we need so many directors though…..

        1. Because there is a lot to do in a professional club, far more than fans know. Football nowadays is not just about putting players in training and in matches and getting result.

So they need a lot of director to ensure everything worked.
