MN: Chukwueze out for a few weeks – the six games he will miss

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan received some bad news today as Samuel Chukwueze returned early to Milanello from international duty with a muscle problem.

In today’s training round-up on the official website, Milan report that Chukwueze is already back at the training complex. The Nigerian suffered a left hamstring injury while away on international duty, thus ruling him out of his country’s match against Mozambique.

According to MilanNews, a month of absence is expected for the winger and he should be out at least until the November international break.

Therefore, Chukwueze is almost certain to miss the following matches: Juventus at home, PSG away (Champions League), Napoli away, Udinese home, PSG (Champions League) and Lecce away.

It is a big blow for Pioli who will have been hoping to have the former Villarreal man available during what is a demanding part of the fixture list, given the level of opponents to come and that two games a week will be common.

  1. Finally time to give Romero a chance! Chuk has been lacking on the pitch thus far. I think this isn’t all bad. Hope for a speedy recovery regardless!

  2. I don’t why, but African players are so injury prone. What kind of tough training do the academies there let them perform for them to get injured this much, lol. That aside, now there is room for Romero to get the spotlight.

  3. Injured his left hamstring, no surprise there. perhaps if he uses his right foot once in a while it would take the pressure off!

Come on Samu, get your sh*t together

  4. That is a very hard blow for Chukwueze. He is missing out on a big opportunity to establish some of his personal goals for the year. But, as is the nature of professional sports, there are others ready to take on those roles. Good luck Romero.

  5. @Doki what do you mean by African players are injury prone?, How many time have Calabria and florenzi got injured for the past 6 months, got to shut up if you don’t know what to say.

    1. I don’t know how can someone get triggered by something like this. Florenzi is old now, he is no longer in his prime so there’s no need to talk about him. This is basically the case for many top African players playing in Serie A like Benny, Osimhen and now Chukwueze who was an injury prone player in Villarreal too. So are you trying to say they are not? There is no reason to be over sensitive over something like this man.

  6. You guys are very funny
Romero needs to be loan out. Did you watch us last game could not even move the ball front like as if he is scared

  7. Oh dear. It’s not looking promising for this guy.

It’s a huge credit to the manager and the players that so many have settled in so quickly but there are bound to be misses as there is with most transfers.

This guy just can’t seek to get a break. Hopefully I’m wrong and he recovers soon and shows us what he can do.

The clock is ticking for an impatient media and fans.

  8. Romero is not strong enough and needs to be loaned out. This is bad news for Milan and Chukwueze with so many important games coming up.

Pioli will most likely use Musah on RW to give Pulisic a break.

  9. That 28M investment is looking more and more like a big mistake. Injuries happen but it’s not as if he started his term with us on fire anyways. Still long way to go in the season and he has time to turn it around but it’s not a promising start at all. So far he’s been a big flop. Toughest part of our season is on the horizon and he’s gone. Let’s hope he rebounds in the new year. Too bad cause we could have definitely used him.

  10. I thought he was our undisputed best signing.I was wrong. But still think he is a beast and just needs time and a bit of luck to get going.

Pulisic is putting up the best numbers of his career and playing on his less preferred wing – didn’t see that one coming. Hope he stays fit.

  11. Another Adli fan here? You should try not only to watch the game but actually kinda understand what you are seeing. Helps ykno

  12. 1 good goal in preseason and now you are saying let play, the guy that always fall down for every of his touch 😏 better look for another solution and I feel sad for chukumessi.

    1. Romero showed more intelligence, willingness and co-op play with this teammates in his 15 minutes than Chuk in his 3 games. A one dimensional player without vision, thinking he a dribbling god. He flopped everytime he took on an opposition player.
