MN: Chukwueze suffers first degree injury to left thigh – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Samuel Chukwueze’s season for AC Milan may well be over after tests confirmed that he has suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh.

Chukwueze’s withdrawal at half-time during the 5-1 win against Cagliari was the only ‘bad note’ of the night for Milan given the result and the performance. More specifically, the winger felt discomfort in his left thigh and thus was withdrawn.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Chukwueze was present at Milanello today for some checks on the injury and it was confirmed that he has suffered a first degree injury to the biceps femoris muscle of his left thigh.

The evolution of the injury will be monitored with a new MRI which will be carried out next week, but bearing in mind that there are only two games left before the end of the season it means that he has likely kicked his last ball in 2023-24.

Di Marzio reports that the Nigerian will certainly miss the away match against Torino on Saturday. It is difficult at the moment to understand whether he will be able to be available again for the last match at San Siro of the season, the one against Salernitana. All depends on the check early next week.

  1. The last two games are not more than glorified friendlies given that Milan has secured second place. Win, draw, or lose will make no difference whatsoever. It makes no sense to bring Chuk back for Salernitana; no need to risk his recovery. For all I care, the last two games could just have a B team to evaluate other guys who haven’t played much. Neither team (Milan, Salernitana) have nothing to play for in that game. Milan is guaranteed second place; Salernitana is relegated.

And the poster above said Chuk is a bust??? He probably hasn’t watched the last several games when Chuk was simply excellent. He wasn’t as brilliant about Cagliari (although he did originate the play for the first goal) but that was because he wasn’t fully fit, as we got to learn later. Chuk is no bust. I expect him to have a great 2024-2025 season, under a coach willing to trust him more than Pioli did.

  2. I’m sure going to miss all of his offside goals and almost assists that had everyone on here raving about his “red hot form.”

  3. He played the end of the season very well and that is a good thing for us. Unsure were this negativity is coming from. I am sure you are all trash at the sport, so no need to be keyboard warriors.

    1. All those negative commenter will use everything they can to Diss current management and our player that is not their taste… What a loyal fans they are. /s
