MN: ‘Closeness and encouragement’ – Ibrahimovic’s presence at Milanello

AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at Milanello today, and the reason for his visit has been revealed in a report.

It has been a difficult month for the Rossoneri, and in many ways, it has been a difficult month for Ibrahimovic. The Swede’s decisions in the summer have been criticised, the coach he was a part of appointing has not succeeded so far and as a director he is also the target of some criticism.

However, it is important for him to keep his head clear, and continue in his role with his responsibilities only growing. Today, he has proven to do this with a visit to Milanello to speak with the team.

Earlier, it had been speculated that the Swede had confronted the team before training to rally them up for the game against Inter, but Milan News suggests it went very differently.

Instead of a confrontation, the former striker ‘encouraged and spurred on the players individually’ rather than giving a talk to the entire team. However, he did speak to some of the Diavolo’s leaders such as Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders.

It is also reported that he spoke to Paulo Fonseca, and the pair can be seen smiling in the training pictures even if there is a reported rift between them. This is vital, as it shows ‘a sign of closeness and strong encouragement’ to the outside world, and to the squad, which is much needed.

  1. Time to bark and time to roll up the sleeves. All hands on deck in a crisis. Better go to sleep and wake up at Milanello until the crisis is averted.

  2. I regret criticizing Maldini even when he deserved it.
I know Zlatan’s position on paper is not the same as Maldini’s but it is unbelievable that Zlatan’s going to talk to the team members is becoming top news compared to Maldini’s constant presence in the trainings and dressing room.

One step in the right direction by Zlatan, I don’t know if it is too little too late though.

    1. The thing is Maldini didn’t even have to do so. It’s something completely beyond his ‘payroll’. But as we know Maldini bleed red and black and he came from the old school style of Milan. When we’re a family first than a team later. That closeness won us literally everything.

So he simply tried to bring that value back and we won Scudetto as a unit. Not because we had a world-class coach and most expensive squad (hell even our salary budget was low compared to other Serie A top teams). And when that value is gone, here we are now.

  3. I Honestly dont want to see Ibra face anymore. Hes not a Player or Coach.

The coach needs to put these ppl in their place.
Fonseca needs to Give the management a public Dressing down in front of all the players and kick them out of the locker room. That is the ONLY way to gain respect.

  4. Interesting that he didn’t speak to the greatest leader of them of Leao.
Or maybe he was too busy modeling, writing autobiographies that no one will ever read or rapping.
