MN: Comparisons are inevitable but Tonali is simply himself – he is starting to shine

By Isak Möller -

Sandro Tonali scored his first goal for AC Milan last weekend and last night, he was phenomenal for Italy’s U21 side. It’s safe to say, therefore, that he has started this campaign in the best way possible.

As highlighted by MilanNews, Tonali has been compared with many big players over the years. From Andrea Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso to Daniele De Rossi. It’s very clear, however, that Tonali is simply Sandro.

Obviously, we shouldn’t make too much out of the midfielder’s start to the season, but it’s only right to highlight the positives. After all, Tonali was showered with negative reviews last season, so why not give him some positive ones when he deserves it?

Pirlo, Gattuso, De Rossi are just names. Sandro, meanwhile, only has Milan, the pitch and above all himself in mind. He knows who he is, what he can give and how he can grow. Because Tonali is simply Sandro, not anyone else.
