MN: Contacts resume over Portuguese midfielder as Pioli asks Milan for five signings

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to listen to Stefano Pioli’s suggestions and intervene where necessary in the summer window, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Pioli’s stay on the Milan bench means that the club will have to shield him in difficult times and satisfy his requests on the transfer market, such is the decision that they have chosen to make by abandoning the Ralf Rangnick route.

Pioli has named the positions that need strengthening, and he wants the management to bring in a right-back, a left-back who will be the deputy to Theo Hernandez, a centre-back, a midfielder and one or two centre-forwards depending on the future of Ibrahimovic.

For the midfield, the report adds that Florentino Luis of Benfica is a name back in fashion. Contacts between his agents and sporting director Ricky Massara have continued over the months and the Milan manager is a great admirer of the 20-year-old.

There is still no open negotiation, but the situation must be monitored.
