MN: Due diligence completed as Investcorp just need to sign Milan takeover

By Isak Möller -

Investcorp are in advanced talks with Elliott Management over the purchase of AC Milan and could be the club’s new owners at the end of the season. In fact, the Bahrain-based fund has now completed due diligence.

This was reported by MilanNews this morning, stating that no problems emerged from the control of the club’s accounts. Elliott’s excellent was only confirmed and this means that the signature of Investcorp should arrive in the coming week.

For the final closing, however, the parties will have to wait until the end of the season. Investcorp intend to stay at the club for a long time and the current management is expected to be confirmed, meaning Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will stay.

That in itself is a significant sign that Investcorp believe in the project that Elliott have started. Indeed, it would be a bit foolish to remove the directors after all the great work they have done in recent years.
