MN: Donnarumma dollar costs Skriniar during Milan-PSG – the reconstruction

By Oliver Fisher -

The fake money that AC Milan fans had printed with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s face on may have indirectly help the team get an edge, but it might also have done so directly too.

Milan scored twice against Donnarumma in his first game back at San Siro as an opponent, and secured the three precious points to get their European journey going after a convincing performance.

MilanNews writes about a ‘curious and strange’ incident which occurred a few seconds before the second goal that was scored by Olivier Giroud, who beat Milan Skriniar in the air to head in.

Just before being overwhelmed by the Frenchman’s jump, Skriniar decided to pick up one of the Donnarumma dollars (or ‘Dollarummas’ as the report names them) to move it away from the pitch.

While he was doing so the ball was kept in by Theo Hernandez who cross the ball for his compatriot inside the area, with Skriniar left flat-footed.

  1. There is no excuse for professional footballers to stop playing because someone is rolling around on the ground.
    Play to the whistle!!

If I was PSG owner I’d fine all their defenders who stopped playing.
Anyway, great goal for Milan. Powerful cross by Theo and what a leap by Giroud, he simply dunked on Skriniar, so satisfying.

p.s If Leao had missed out on a rebound because of sitting on the ground, we would all be after him

    1. Giroud did the same thing earlier, stepped on one and angerly threw it away after. It went our way but could easily have effected us too.
