MN: Donnarumma’s silence is deafening – Milan pick his replacement as Juventus eye €100m coup

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have received no response from Gianluigi Donnarumma regarding their latest contract offer and have moved to secure his replacement, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Donnarumma would like to stay at Milan but would also like a competitive team playing in the elite European competition, so without a Champions League return it seems difficult for him to stay.

His silence is not a good sign for the management, with Maldini and Massara having offered €8m net per season while also trying to insert a €30m release clause to make the agreement less binding if for example Milan do not qualify for the Champions League next year.

Mino Raiola asks for over €10m to renew and a large commission upon signing, and has been talking to Juventus for some time, but Agnelli’s club is also waiting to understand if they will participate in the Champions League because signing Donnarumma is an investment of over €100m gross with Szczesny already their No.1.

Milan’s priority is the renewal of Donnarumma and they will wait until the end with confidence, but the silence of the goalkeeper cannot go unnoticed and so Mike Maignan of Lille has been locked up for €13-14m in case Gigio decides to leave.
