MN: €20m defender’s future remains uncertain but Milan have a plan for talks with Man Utd

Diogo Dalot’s future remains uncertain but AC Milan have not completely given up on getting him back for next season, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how Dalot managed to overcome his early struggles by appearing 12 times in the last 13 league games, 4 of which were as a starter, for a total of 34 appearances in 2020-21 including 2 goals and 3 assists. He made himself useful to the cause by playing both on the right and on the left side of defence, something Stefano Pioli found useful.

Dalot is observing a few days of vacation after the U21 Euros with Portugal, and from 1 July he will officially return to England and report to Manchester United, but Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have every intention of negotiating with the Red Devils for his stay at Milan.

The English club are asking for €20m to let him leave permanently, but Milan are not ruling out the possibility of renewing the loan. A solution could well be found but it seems that the Rossoneri want to try their luck reducing the asking price, purely because of his season finale.
