Speculation suggesting that Basel defender Omar Alderete is set to complete a move to AC Milan is wide of the mark, according to a report.
Swiss outlet Sport.ch reported on Monday night that the 23-year-old is attracting interest from a number of clubs after an impressive season, and his agent has apparently confirmed that his client is about to move to Serie A.
They added that talks with Milan are ‘well advanced’ and that there is even speculation as to whether the transfer will be completed in the coming days, and Alderete – who is suspended for Basel’s next game – could easily travel to complete a move.
According to MilanNews, denials have arrived regarding the rumours. Sources close to the player have confirmed that he is not in face one step away from moving to Milan and there will be no meetings in the coming days between the Rossoneri management and the player’s entourage.
