MN: Fonseca could include Camarda for Club Brugge clash amid Abraham’s injury

AC Milan will be up against Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday and given the injury of Tammy Abraham, Alvaro Morata is the only striker available. As such, the youngster Francesco Camarda could be called up.

Abraham came off the bench in the 72nd minute yesterday evening but was forced to leave just five minutes later, suffering an injury just after missing a sitter. In other words, it was pretty much a nightmare scenario for the Englishman, who suffered a trauma to his shoulder.

According to MilanNews, with Abraham unlikely to make it, Paulo Fonseca could call up Camarda for the game against Club Brugge. Luka Jovic, who is the third-choice striker, isn’t included in Milan’s Champions League squad for the season and the manager thus must turn to the academy.

While it will be nice to see Camarda with the first team, it’s not ideal for the Primavera side as they will take on Club Brugge on Tuesday afternoon. The striker was nailed on to start that game but now, seeing as Fonseca might call him up, that likely won’t be the case.

Camarda has only made two appearances for the first team before, both in Serie A, so even if he does get called up a cameo is unlikely.

  1. This guy’s development process might get derailed with so much media attention and uncalled for pressure. Let him make the steps in peace and talk about him when/if he is ready to play first team football.

  2. I disagree, he needs to play, it’s not the intense physical game it once was and this has allowed for many younger players to be break into teams, 20 years ago, Camada could not have handled the physical aspect, but not now.

Camada doing well or even getting a goal could set the trajectory for his whole career.

  3. What pressure are we talking about? That kid from Barcelona how old was he and he was one of the best players in Euro, just give him the chance that’s all for him to prove himself then please

  4. Fonseca needs to play Jovic. I don’t know why he has been frozen out. Jovic absolutely would have put away that ball from six inches away that Abraham stumbled over, missing the shot and injuring himself.
    Jeeeez.

    1. Unfortunately Jovic isn’t included in the Champions league selection so if he is to play this season then it cant happen before 2nd half of the season where Fonseca can make a few adjustments.

  5. I don’t like the fact that jovic is frozen out both in domestic and champions league ,he is not that bad and he is a humble dude…really this is unfair and trust me if that guy goes to Atalanta or fiorentina he will be envied by milan at the end for playing well just like Adil, locateli ,Kalulu etc

  6. Milan lack man management and are career killers ,no wonder certain players wud prefer to go to lower unrecognized club than come to milan ,cos they don’t manage players well and are so inpatient with developing a player
