MN: Fonseca having strong input in the mercato – the two names he has asked for

By Oliver Fisher -

Paulo Fonseca is having his say when it comes to the summer transfer window because two targets are players he specifically asked for, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, the management are continuing to work  to close other incoming deals after Alvaro Morata and Strahinja Pavlovic. The closest is undoubtedly Emerson Royal of Spurs, but Tammy Abraham of Roma is also being explored as an idea.

Both players were a specific request from the new Milan coach, which shows that Geoffrey Moncada, Giorgio Furlani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are listening to what he wants to build his squad and best carry out his ideas.

Milan and Tottenham are getting closer to shaking hands over Emerson Royal and there is great optimism that this deal will also be closed in the coming days. The feeling is that €15-16m will be enough, and the Brazilian was seen by Fonseca as an ideal right-back upgrade.

As for Abraham, it will take a little more time to reach a possible agreement. The English striker is also a specific request of the Portuguese coach and the directors are working to try to satisfy him. Roma values him at €25m but Milan do not intend to pay that, so a counterpart could be included.

  1. If Fonseca’s requests have truly been Emerson Royal and Tammy Abraham then there’s no doubt about it. This is confirmation of what we already suspected. Fonseca is an idiot of the highest order. Jesus.

  2. I very much doubt he came to Moncada and said ‘hey i really need this Emerson to make my team work, you know’

I very much doubt he did the same about Tammy. Imagine the convo ‘ hey i know you bought me Morata but i really need Abraham you know.. i just really feel like i need him, man’

  3. I highly doubt that. These names were linked to Milan even before fonseca had arrived. It’s different if fonseca Ave the green light to get them. Ik ow Emerson hasn’t played well in Tottenham but he was once wanted by everybody and went to barca. It just takes the right team.

Abraham is a decent striker aNd his first year he put up 21 goal contributions and then had that big injury but if he is healthy he may be worth it at the right price

  4. I don’t get the Abraham move especially given his injuries and salary per goal output, given he’s a back up to Morata…

    Seems like an Origi repeat.

  5. Find a DM first, we really need a DM !!
    Close Fofana deal.
Why are we looking for a 3rd striker but still not having proper DM besides Isma?

  6. That’s what they said about Pioli. Big surprise he got axed when the toll bell rung.
Hope Fonseca won’t be another scape goat. Maldinis heir is right about one thing, about time we started holding management to the same criticisms meted out to players and managers.

  7. I prefer Milan making use of Musa as more of a right back than signing a new one. We have Jimenez and Terraciano growing up. We can save some money till january transfer.
