MN: Four certain to stay, two gaps to fill and a sale likely – Milan still working on the trequarti

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are reportedly expected to make yet more changes to their attacking department before the window shuts at the end of the month.

MilanNews reports that – compared to last season – the changes to the Milan attack will be significant and the last three weeks of the transfer market are expected to be very hot for the trident that plays behind the centre-forward.

The most significant change is that the previous number 10 in Hakan Calhanoglu eft and the shirt passed onto the shoulders of Brahim Diaz, who returned to the Rossoneri on a two-year loan. However, it is obvious that the 21-year-old cannot always do everything alone, so Maldini and Massara have been concentrating on getting a second attacking midfielder.

Hakim Ziyech is currently the favourite target but behind him if Chelsea do not open to the right conditions there are alternative options such as Nikola Vlasic of CSKA Moscow, Isco of Real Madrid and the not-yet-discarded Josip Ilicic from Atalanta.

There will not be a revolution on the wings, but here too something has changed as Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao have remained but Jens Petter Hauge went to Eintracht Frankfurt. On the right, Alexis Saelemaekers is practically certain that he is part of Pioli’s first choice XI meanwhile.

The possible departure of Samu Castillejo to Getafe means that Milan are looking at players who can play both on the right and as the playmaker, which Ziyech, Ilicic and Vlasic all can. Four are certain to stay therefore, with two gaps to fill.
