MN: Ibrahimovic did not leave with the rest of the squad for Genoa – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not travel to Genoa with the rest of his team-mates for Wednesday night’s clash against Sampdoria at the Marassi.

Milan will be looking to extend their 10-game unbeaten run that they have established since Serie A resumed against a side with little to play for, and Ibrahimovic is expected to start up front.

According to what MilanNews has learned however, the Swede has joined the rest of the team in their training camp in Genoa, but he did not leave with the rest of the squad from Gallarate.

Instead, the 38-year-old had a few hours of leave from the club and the coach journey due to a sponsorship commitment he made a long time ago, one that consequently could not be postponed.

In other news, Ibra was front and centre of the 2020-21 Milan Puma home shirt kit launch, with could be construed as a hint that he may be staying around to wear it next season.
