MN: Ibrahimovic in quarantine after positive COVID test – the protocol he must follow to return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan confirmed on Thursday that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for Coronavirus and will not be able to play against Bodo/Glimt.

That news, plus the fact Rafael Leao is not yet fit after returning from Coronavirus himself and the fact Ante Rebic is suspended, means Stefano Pioli is stretched in terms of his attacking options for the game against the Norwegian league leaders.

Lorenzo Colombo is set to start up front in what will be a one-off knockout game to play either Bestikas or Rio Ave next week, with the winner of that game qualifying for the Europa League group stages.

After having tested positive, MilanNews notes how the Rossoneri promptly notified the competent health authorities and placed the Swede in home quarantine.

In order to return to being available to Pioli, Ibra will have to have two consecutive negative tests. It is difficult to say precisely when the number 11 will be able to finish the quarantine.
