MN: Ibrahimovic made a clear promise to Pioli after his knee surgery

Zlatan Ibrahimovic decided to have surgery on his knee after the conservative therapy didn’t have the desires results for the Swede. Although an intense period of recovery awaits, he should be back for the league opener. 

According to MilanNews, Stefano Pioli was one of the first people to speak with Ibrahimovic after the intervention. The striker assured his manager over the phone that it had all gone well and according to plan.

He also promised to return in time for the first game of the season, which will take place towards the end of August. The 39-year-old did the same when he spoke to CEO Ivan Gazidis, technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Ricky Massara.

In the meantime, Milan are working to bring in Olivier Giroud on a free transfer from Chelsea, which is turning out to be harder than expected. In any case, a striker is expected to arrive at the club this summer.
