MN: Ibrahimovic returns just in time to break Milan’s negative goalscoring trend

By Isak Möller -

Milan have struggled to find the back of the net lately and this was evident in the two-legged tie against Man Utd. With a bit more composure, they could have advanced to the next round of the competition.

As highlighted by MilanNews, the Rossoneri lost their last two games and failed to score in both of them. The problem, especially in the games played at San Siro, is now very evident as they can’t keep squandering their chances.

The injuries of Ibrahimovic, Rebic, Mandzukic and Leao have certainly affected the last period. In the second leg against Man Utd, they had to play with Samu Castillejo in a false-nine role, which says a lot about the situation.

In the last ten goals (all comps), Milan have scored just nine goals and this is worrying as they scored at least two each game in the first half of the season. Ibrahimovic’s return, therefore, couldn’t have come in a better time, ready to break the trend.
