MN: Ibrahimovic sets a target for his recovery – he wants to beat the schedule again

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is hoping to once again defy the recovery times set in order to be available for the first game of the season, a report claims.

A statement on the club’s official website last month confirmed that Ibrahimović underwent arthroscopic surgery of the left knee at the UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital in Rome. The Swede damaged his knee in Milan’s win over Juventus towards the end of the season, which sparked fears as to whether he could be set for another long spell out, but his recovery is now underway and he is expected to be running again in the next few weeks.

According to MilanNews, the Swede wants to surprise everyone again and return to the field for the first Serie A game on 22 August. It will not be easy, but Ibrahimovic is convinced that  -even by respecting the schedule – he can at least be in the squad for the game.

The eight weeks of recovery dictated by the medical staff after the operation expires a few days before the first league game of the season, and Zlatan wants to be there at all costs.
