MN: Ibrahimovic suffers calf muscle problem – his 2020 is over with Juventus match at risk

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be without striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the rest of 2020 as he has suffered yet another muscle problem, a report claims.

Milan head into the two games before Christmas knowing that they will likely have to take six points from six if they are to remain at the top of the tree, and their chances of doing so will be boosted if they can get some key players back.

MilanNews reported how Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Theo Hernandez trained together with the rest of the group at Milanello on Friday which implied that both will be involved at the Mapei Stadium.

However, the same source has claimed that at the end of today’s training Ibrahimovic felt pain in his left calf. The MRI revealed hemorrhagic suffusion in his soleus muscle, with a test to be carried out in 10 days at the earliest.

Ibra will certainly miss the matches against Sassuolo and Lazio, so for him 2020 is over. Crucially though, the matches against Benevento and Juventus on 3 and 6 January are also at risk.
