AC Milan will soon meet with Zlatan Ibrahimovic to discuss his future and the potential renewal of his contract, according to a report.
On May 25th Ibrahimovic underwent reconstruction of his anterior cruciate ligament in Lyon, with lateral reinforcement and meniscal repair, and MilanNews write that this choice was motivated by a desire to return to playing even if he will be out until January 2023.
In a few days there will be a meeting between the Swede and the Milan management, who have never withdraw the possibility of a renewal for a another year, but it depends on how the recovery from the operation proceeds.
There are a few options being considered but the most concrete one at the moment seems to be a contract with a salary that will depend on the number of games played, as well as on the personal and team targets that Ibra will achieve.
The 40-year-old knows that his playing time will be reduced if he signs a new deal, but at the same time he is convinced that – if he is physically well enough – he is still able to make a difference.
