MN: Ibrahimovic trains with Milan squad for first time in eight months

By Oliver Fisher -

Some good news arrived from training this morning as Zlatan Ibrahimovic was back with the squad for the first time in many weeks, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Ibrahimovic carried out the first part of today’s session with the rest of the squad, which consisted of the warm-ups and then a rondo. Then, the Swedish centre-forward went to do a personalised programme and did not take part in any training matches.

However, it is a significant step forward for Ibrahimovic who hadn’t worked on the pitch together with the rest of the Rossoneri team for over eight months, since the knee surgery he underwent immediately following the Scudetto win.

Obviously this is only the first step towards returning to the field for competitive games and while there was speculation he could play against Torino one week today to get some game time view of the Champions League match against Tottenham the following Tuesday, he was left off the UEFA squad list which has caused some mystery to arise regarding his actual return date.
