MN: Jovic’s ‘strange summer’ – renewal to possible sale in a few weeks

Luka Jovic had a positive first season with AC Milan which led to them renewing his contract, but in just a few weeks there are now doubts about his future at the club.

According to MilanNews, Milan pondered the idea of giving Jovic a longer-term extension after a deubt season in which he racked up nine goals at an average of one every 138 minutes, but in the end they went for an automatic one-year renewal.

Despite the extension, Jovic’s time with the Rossoneri could still end after a year because the management are thinking about another signing in addition to Alvaro Morata. In recent days, the Serbian’s name has been mentioned as a possible counterpart to give to Roma to get Tammy Abraham.

That idea was rejected by the Giallorossi, but the former Fiorentina and Real Madrid forward has also received offers from two foreign clubs, yet he has rejected both because his goal at the moment is to remain with the Rossoneri.

The fact remains that Milan need sales to make room in the squad for new signings, and if a new centre-forward were to arrive (Abraham is still the favourite), the player most in the balance is Jovic. The feeling is that a solution will be found only in the last days of the summer market.

    1. Jovic and Okafor ideal backup… almost everybody know it, Abraham even on loan is no reason. I think our attack is full and ok , don’t need another player…RB and DM

  1. i think we should keep him we dont need abraham he scored 9 goals last season from the bench and we should keep him as sub for morata and okafor can play on the left or cf

    1. Sure he did..he just came to the club, put his díck on the table and said, guys I want Tammy Abraham!

      100% believable scenario

  2. This rumour just sound strange to me. If Fonseca really want to dump Jovic for Tammy because of the requirement to his playing style, who will cost more, both in salary and transfer. And the management appointed Fonseca as the coach since he wouldn’t be expensive when it comes to players he wants and being a “yes man” =. Do what the management wants

      1. Maybe made up by the media? Maybe..
But why wouldn’t that be case, that Fonseca is a “yes man” and is on a low salary? Why couldn’t Milan go for a coach with strong personalities or authority. Like Conte who was rumoured (even tho im glad we didn’t get and is expensive) or Conceicao?
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t judge Fonseca. I’ll just wait and see, and surprise me

  3. This reports is baseless.
    1. Milan doesn’t need to sell to buy any player. If they sell is to Free up space
    2. Abraham is a back up striker and they can’t include any one to buy him

  4. If the coach so much want Tammy cuz he suits his style of play… Milan should have go upfront for him instead of buying Morata
