Pierre Kalulu made his first Serie A appearance of the season in last night’s 1-1 draw against Juventus, and many have been quick to praise the Frenchman.
MilanNews writes how the early season injury crisis that Milan have been gripped with has given opportunities to some who may not of expected them. Kalulu was thrown into the fray after Kjaer’s injury and played a good game against Juventus on his debut, providing guarantees in the defensive phase and above all being an extra outlet in attack.
Pioli will no doubt be thinking that he could have picked Kalulu from the start instead of adapting Tomori as a full-back, but that is the benefit of hindsight and Wednesday could bring different choices.
If Calabria is out and the boss has different tactical ideas for Florenzi, he knows he has a reliable player to send in. Of course the former Lyon man can still develop in certain areas, but the best way to do this is through playing time in the right moments.
