MN: Key update arrives on Pulisic’s fitness ahead of opener against Torino

When the news emerged that Christian Pulisic would not be available for the Monza game due to injury there was obvious concern, but now a positive update has arrived in view of AC Milan’s season opener.

According to the latest from MilanNews, Pulisic is back to training regularly with the rest of the squad after he suffered a blow to his foot that prevented him from taking the field on Tuesday evening in Milan’s last summer friendly against Monza in the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy.

Until yesterday the American was still working individually, but today he was fully available again and his presence in the squad for the first game of the Serie A season against Torino on Saturday night is not in doubt.

The only doubt in fact is where Pulisic will play, having often been deployed as a central attacking midfielder by the new coach in the preseason campaign. There is also the chance that he could be used as a right winger, a role in which he did very well last season.

Either way, it is obviously a big positive to have the former Chelsea man back fit and ready to go as he hopes to replicate last season’s very positive return.

  1. I mean, surprised he wasn’t majorly concussed from taking that clearance directly to the face in Baltimore. (Image used) I was on the other side of the stadium and the sound of the ball striking Puli’s face was as loud as the sound of Ter Stegen punting it….. Glad he’s looking on the up and up though!
