MN: Kjaer could recover for Milan-Roma as price tag of buy-out clause is revealed

By Isak Möller -

Following the MRI scan this morning, Milan were able to breathe a sigh of relief as Simon Kjaer doesn’t have any ligament damage to his right knee. The centre-back has been a key player as of late and certainly is needed.

According to MilanNews.it, the Danish international could be ready for Sunday’s important clash against Roma. For that game, Leo Duarte will also be back at Stefano Pioli’s disposal but that doesn’t change the current pecking order.

It certainly isn’t a mystery that Kjaer wants to stay at the club for next season, as his contract will expire at the end of this one. The Rossoneri are yet to make a decision on the defender’s future, with the option to buy him from Sevilla.

The buy-out clause is set at €3.5m, per the report, which is a very good price for a player like Kjaer. Although he has been good ever since his arrival in January, it seems he has upped the level even more since the league and cup were resumed.

However, his future will depend on the preferences of Milan’s technical department, which will change at the ended of this season. That being said, it’s difficult to find a replacement at the same low price.
