AC Milan have not summoned Simon Kjaer for the game against Atletico Madrid at San Siro this evening as a precaution, a report claims.
The Danish centre-back was subbed off after just 36 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Juventus earlier this month and there didn’t seem to be any obvious incident behind the injury. It did indeed look like he pulled something, and it kept him out of training until yesterday when he worked with the rest of the squad.
That made it seem like he was almost certain to be at least named in the squad for tonight’s game against the LaLiga champions, but as MilanNews writes, Kjaer will not take the field tonight in the Champions League.
The 32-year-old was not summoned as a precaution, as the Milan coach and the medical staff prefer not to take risks and wish to avoid a new, more serious injury.
