MN: Kjaer the glue that holds Milan together in Porto – his renewal will soon be discussed

By SempreMilan -

Simon Kjaer stood out as one of the better players in a bad bunch last night as AC Milan were beaten 1-0 by Porto in Portugal, making their chances of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League very slim.

MilanNews writes how Fikayo Tomori, Davide Calabria and Fode Ballo-Tourè all had tough evenings at the Estadio do Dragao but Kjaer was the glue that held the back four together at times. If he keeps up his form and fitness it seems hard for Stefano Pioli to imagine dropping him, especially in a team that is still too young and immature to face such an important match

Kjaer is a true leader and he did not let the shaky performances of those around him affect his usual composure and attentiveness. The contractual situation of Simon Kjaer is a matter that the management hope to be closed as soon as possible even though there are more difficult renewals to tackle soon.

The Danish defender recently declared that he is always open to Maldini and Massara to talk, and soon he should be rewarded for his impact on and off the field with an extension.
