MN: Leao forced to grit his teeth as Rebic remains out – Pioli’s trust key

Ante Rebic trained individually yesterday as well (and most likely today as well) and is thus set to miss out on Milan’s clash against Roma. This means that Rafael Leao will play from start once again.

As explained by MilanNews, the Portuguese international will have to grit his teeth tomorrow evening. He could’ve used some rest, there is no doubt about it, but Milan and Stefano Pioli need him.

Rebic is injured and there are no other solutions, unless you want to field Brahim Diaz or Alexis Saelemaekers as the left-winger. Leao may be in need of rest, but fielding him from start is a much better option than the aforementioned ones.

Pioli believes a lot in Leao and the winger has certainly repaid the trust at the start of this season. The trust of the club and the manager was the key as the Portuguese youngster needed time to fully settle in and shine for the club.
