MN: Maignan misses France training again after Milan advise France – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

Mike Maignan missed today’s training session with the France national team after also skipping yesterday’s, and some information regarding his condition has emerged.

MilanNews cite Le Parisien who report on their website that Maignan did not train with the rest of his team-mates under the orders of Didier Deschamps today at Clairefontaine, as they continue to prepare for their friendlies against Germany and Chile.

The Milan goalkeeper arrived at the camp after a troubled week: first the strong blow to the knee suffered during the Europa League win against Slavia Praha, then a possible muscular problem that occurred after a spectacular and unusual save he made at the end of the victory over Verona.

Before leaving for the national team, the tests he underwent in Milan had highlighted the total absence of injuries or involvement in the knee ligaments.

According to what has been learned by MilanNews, the goalkeeper’s double absence from training with the French national team is part of a discussion between the Milan and the France medical staff. The Rossoneri advised them to let the goalkeeper have a few days of ‘rest’ to avoid any kind of problem flaring up.

According to what L’Equipe are reporting, the decision on the goalkeeper’s participation in Saturday’s friendly match against Germany will be made tomorrow. However, the situation remains normal because if the problem had been serious, the player would have been sent home.
