MN: Marangon to reunite with Pioli and become Milan’s new team manager

Andrea Romeo recently left his position as team manager of AC Milan and the Rossoneri have since been looking for a replacement. A decision has now been made, per a report, with Stefano Pioli set to reunite with an old colleague.

According to Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, Alberto Marangon is set to become the new team manager of Milan after leaving his position at Sampdoria. For the latter, he was the team manager for several years.

Marangon was previously also the team manager of Fiorentina, where he worked with Stefano Pioli and experienced the death of Davide Astori together with the Milan coach. The two are thus set to reunite again.

Marangon is expected to start his tenure and be thrown into the action immediately, given that Milan only have a few weeks left until the start of the season. Very soon, an official announcement of some sort should arrive on the matter.

When Milan won the Scudetto, Marangon published the following message on his Instagram in honour of Pioli: “There are people you meet in your life that have an influence on you. People who have the ability to leave you something real, intense. People with whom you embark on a journey that sometimes leads to major difficulties to overcome. Allow me to celebrate this person today, an excellent coach, but above all a great man who has shown that seriousness and humanity are rewarded in the end. Congratulations Stefano, you deserved it.”
