AC Milan are expected to sign two new central midfielders this summer given a mid-season problem will arise, a report claims.
As MilanNews writes, the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations will be played from 9 January 2022 to 6 February 2022, and it will create several problems for Milan as the Rossoneri’s starting double pivot is made up of Ismael Bennacer (Algeria) and Frank Kessie (Ivory Coast). Both their respective nations are pre-tournament favourites, so a run deep in the competition could see them miss several games.
The report mentions that the Milan management will intervene in this market session trying to buy a midfielder to replace Soualiho Meite – who will not be bought on a permanent deal from Torino – and another player will arrive to flesh out the department, which could be the returning Tommaso Pobega. Sandro Tonali’s signing from Brescia also has to be defined, with a discount sought by Maldini.
