Despite the various uncertainties surrounding both the resumption of the season and who will be in various key roles at the club, Milan are continuing to prepare for next season.
That is according to an editorial from Anto Vitiello for MilanNews, who claims that Ralf Rangnick remains in pole position to become head coach ahead of next season, but while Stefano Pioli is still in the job nothing will be announced.
Sources close to the club have apparently shown indications of an active leadership, ready to intervene in the summer market to shape the team and strengthen it. The objectives have already been identified in compliance with the rules of Financial Fair Play, therefore there will be no crazy expenses.
Various strategies are already in place, such as one for if Gianluigi Donnarumma remains and one for if he leaves, the same thing with Lucas Paquetà and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the three players who could change the market the most for both budget reasons (from funds raised) and also from the gaps they would leave.
In this period chief scout Geoffrey Moncada is the most active of all, waiting to define Paolo Maldini’s situation. The technical director will not be sacked, but he will choose his own at the end of the year. It is clear however that after Boban’s farewell last month, the chances of him staying in the club are low, especially if Rangnick should arrive.
This will be the order: the Maldini and Pioli issues will be resolved, then the ones regarding Donnarumma and Ibra, and all the other transfer market situations will fall following that.
It will be a very important year for Elliott Management because the moment has finally come for a relaunch, but no mistakes can be made, meaning the pressure is also on Gazidis.
