MN: Milan attentive to Bayern Munich defender’s contract situation

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are keeping a very close eye on Benjamin Pavard and his contract situation with Bayern Munich as they plot a move for the defender, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, there is potentially more to read into the fact that Pavard and Lucas Hernandez visited the Milan dressing room after the win against Lecce on Sunday.

It was down to the many French speakers in the Milan squad and the fact Lucas Hernandez is the brother of Milan defender Theo Hernandez, but the idea of Pavard joining Milan is not far-fetched.

He ios a close friend of Olivier Giroud and his contract with the Bundesliga champions runs out in June 2024.

His recent comments to Telefoot suggest that the club are not pushing too hard to get him to renew at the moment, whilst he appears very open to all scenarios.

“At the moment there are no ongoing dialogues with the club, we are focused on our goals for the season. I’m trying to play my best football, to win trophies. We’ll see the rest this summer,” Pavard said.

  1. Kjær isn’t getting any younger so Milan needs a new experienced defender. I do think we should try and get a left-footed cb but otherwise I think Pavard would be an excellent choice for RB if he is willing to play that position. Calabria is still a wildcard for me, so I don’t think we should put all the eggs in his basket…
