MN: Milan begin talks with Emirates and possible stadium sponsors

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have opened negotiations with Fly Emirates over extending their current sponsorship agreement, a report claims.

The two parties have begun talks to prolong the current contract which expires on 30 June 2020, MilanNews.it claims, and is the longest-running agreement of those currently in existence at Milan.

Emirates stayed as a club sponsor following the post-Berlusconi era after Audi and adidas left, choosing to continue their commitment as Milan’s shirt sponsor.

Now, the report adds that Ivan Gazidis is at work with the Dubai-based airline, but not only them. He is speaking with other potential sponsors to help increase revenue, including one who could potentially buy naming rights for the new stadium shared with Inter.

Milan president Paolo Scaroni confirmed to ANSA earlier in the year that the plan is to build a new shared ground.

La Gazzetta dello Sport(via MilanNews) claimed earlier on Monday that two projects are competing for the building of the new 60,000-seater stadium.
