At the start of the season, Brahim Diaz was one of the best AC Milan’s players, mesmerising the fans at times with the No.10 on his back. However, since he got Covid-19 he hasn’t looked the same.
Between the first and seventh round, the Spaniard bagged three goals and one assist for the Rossoneri. Above all, he opened up space for his teammates and was often able to pick apart any defence with his fast moves.
As highlighted by MilanNews, this magic disappeared after he got Covid-19. He isn’t the first player to have been affected negatively by the virus, so it didn’t come as a huge surprise. However, Stefano Pioli expected more from him.
Without his body supporting him, though, Diaz clearly struggled after his return and although he has improved slightly, he needs to do more. Milan and Pioli are hoping that the Christmas break is just what he needs to turn the corner and find that magic again.
