MN: Milan could replace Kessie with expiring Marseille star – their summer attempt

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie has been at the centre of attention lately as he’s yet to sign a renewal with AC Milan. In fact, the situation seems to be very complicated and the Rossoneri might have to look for a replacement.

According to MilanNews, if there are no updates on the renewal between now and January, Milan will start looking around on the market with more purpose. One of the players that they are following is Boubacar Kamara.

The 21-year-old’s contract with Marseille will expire in June 2022 and the Rossoneri tried to sign him already this summer. The high demands of €20m, however, resulted in them not accelerating the negotiations.

The French side are still insisting on the renewal and are hoping that Kamara will sign. However, as is the case with Kessie, offers will arrive from other clubs and that could change a lot. Kamara, therefore, could be Kessie’s replacement at Milan.

  1. I don’t understand the need, especially for next year when we’ll have: Tonali, Bennacer, Bakayoko, Adli, Pobega, and Krunic…. why do we need a 7th player for 2 spots?? Focus on striker and RW please.

    1. Because we need a Physically dominating midfielder. Bakoyoko is not even near to Kessie’s level and is often injured. Rest of the names you mentioned aren’t physical DMs.

    2. Krunic??? LOL. He’s not good. Had a few decent games but let’s be honest he’s not CL quality. Bakayoko is a backup. Adli is Diaz eventual replacement when Real buys him back after we exercise the option. Poegba is a box-to-box mid and Management doesn’t see him in the double pivot role – not sure I agree or not. Kamara on a potential FREE or low transfer and your complaining? LOL. Kamara is a star. Worth 40M. Sign him at all costs, esp at a bargain fee and/or on a free…..Tonali, Bennacer, Kamara and Bakayoko would be stellar. I agree we should def sign a RW (Faivre) for January and at all costs go after Valhovic.

    3. we only have Bakayoko and Kessie as physical MDs and Bakayoko is not in a starter level. Tonali and Bennacer play the same role as Brahim and Adli do. Krunic is a perfect player for us as he can play in LW, CDM, and CAM when we need extra options there. I’m not sure about Pobega, the idea of selling him for funds is better than selling others as he was raised in the club. having Florenzi as an experienced deputy to Alexis, I don’t much need on RW area. and, if we can get a world class player like Kamara on free, regardless of what I’ve said above, why shouldn’t we?
