MN: Milan defender not training with rest of squad amid Watford, Napoli links

By Oliver Fisher -

Full-back Ricardo Rodriguez did not train with the rest of his AC Milan team-mates at Milanello on Monday, according to a report.

We reported on December 20 via our mercato expert Vito Angele that the Swiss international has already found agreement with Milan to leave outright in January.

This is so as not to risk losing his place in the Switzerland national team for the upcoming European Championships next year, with Rodriguez having found himself playing back-up to Theo Hernandez for large parts of this season.

According to MilanNews.it, Rodriguez did not do ball work with the rest of the team during today’s session – the first back at Milanello after the brief Christmas break.

Instead, he carried out personalised work inside the Milanello sports centre, which could be an indication of a pre-existing knock or could be a sign that his exit is very much on the cards.

Watford, Schalke, Fenerbahce and Napoli are the teams who have all been linked by various outlets over the last few days.
