MN: Milan delighted as Leao continues to blossom – meeting over renewal could take place

By Oliver Fisher -

There are certainly signs to suggest earlier in the season that Rafael Leao has found consistency for AC Milan, according to a report.

MilanNews writes how after two years of ups and downs, Leao’s talent is starting to blossom as he has already contributed goals, assists and high level performances through the first eight games of the season across all competitions.

It was the then-CFO Zvonimir Boban who wanted him at Milan back in 2019 as he has always believed in his talents, and after an inconsistent first couple of season it seems as though his rougher edges are being polished as he is learning how to make the most of his devastating speed and dribbling.

A lot is expected from him in terms of end product as the left side of Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 is more attacking and requires goal contributions. Against Atletico Madrid he scored a very difficult goal, and almost netted an incredible overhead kick, so the signs are good.

It cannot be excluded that in the coming months the Milan management meet with the entourage of the winger to discuss the extension of his contract, which is currently set to expire in 2024.
