MN: Milan establish Giroud back-up plan as talks begin over striker Real Madrid paid €60m for

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are evaluating an alternative to Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud, namely Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic according to a report.

MilanNews writes that the Serbia international plan B to Olivier Giroud. Milan are inquiring about the player’s situation with Real Madrid, taking advantage of the negotiations over Brahim Diaz as well as Alvaro Odriozola, the right-back who is also a back-up plan in case Manchester Utd do not allow Diogo Dalot to return.

It is not the first time that Maldini has been following Jovic closely as he was linked last year as a deputy to Ibrahimovic, but he did not arrive then and in January he went out on loan to the comfort zone of Eintracht Frankfurt.

As mentioned, Jovic will only become a concrete target if the Giroud operation falls through, even though the latter is more of a penalty area man and an old-fashioned centre-forward. The Serbian is an atypical striker in comparison, but his moment is a big threat as was seen in Germany but not since his €60m move to Real.
