MN: Milan’s challenging February calendar as the Europa League arrives

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are set for a busy and challenging February at the end of the transfer window, with a new tournament to navigate.

The Rossoneri failed to get out of their Champions League group which contained Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund. Milan did manage to come third though, which means they go into the Europa League knockout round playoff.

They have been drawn to face French side Stade Rennais over two legs, and as Milan News highlights, those games form a challenging month for Milan.

Given they are now out of the Coppa Italia and could soon be eleven points behind Inter who are top of Serie A, the Europa League marks Milan’s best chance to win a trophy and they know it.

The month is going to begin with a tricky-looking Serie A clash away at Frosinone, which is followed up by a home game against Napoli. The champions are struggling a lot but still have very dangerous players.

The home leg against Stade Rennais then comes, and Milan will be away at Monza in Serie A before they then travel to France for the second leg of that tie.

Finally, there is a home game against Atalanta, who have beaten Milan twice this season already.

  1. We have plenty of options to rotate.
Rennes are crap, so give our back ups some time.

    Simic, Musah, Okafor, Jovic etc
Bennacer and Chucky should be available to

  2. We must remain committed and confident.
We are still doing very well ,,and we are getting all our players back from injuries…
Yes we did draw our last match ,,the reality is we should have won it ,that’s now past and it’s onto the future …We are still 3 rd in the scuddeto,,which considering all the injuries we have had to contend with it’s good ,,,and for those of you who are saying stupid things like the Europa cup is not important,,it is it’s still a great competition to be in …Some good clubs are involved yes Liverpool amongst them ..so winning this cup must be our aim ..

    1. It should be our aim. However you only have to watch them play to realise they have no chance.
Can’t beat mediocre teams and get bashed by good teams.
attack does not score, defense concedes a lot, goal keeper makes mistakes and midfield has absolutley no capacity to control a game

  3. Sincerely speaking, am not sure we are capable of exra engagement Even the league we are currently playing, we are finding it difficult to win matches. Adding more completions may compound our injuries and expose our weaknesses the more.
