MN: Milan have Ajax and Atalanta duo on five-man shortlist in case key star leaves

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have no intention of letting Gianluigi Donnarumma leave this summer, a report claims, but the situation still remains up in the air.

According to MilanNews, Milan will obviously try to keep their prized young shot stopper, but if the conditions for renewing the contract were not there then his sale would be inevitable.

This is why the Rossoneri are looking around for a potential replacement, probing both the Italian and foreign markets, and the report claims five names are on their list.

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is one of them, and while the Dutch side would like to keep him the player has different plans for the future: “I have had five good seasons here, but the time has come to take the next step,” he said. His valuation is yet to be established.

Sporting CP’s Luis Maximiano is another name, and sources in Portugal claim Milan would be ready to pay about €20million for the 21-year-old, who has a €45million buy-out clause. The Lisbon club would like to keep him and renew his contract, but the market sirens could push the player to reflect.

Milan are also keen on Udinese’s Juan Musso. In the last two years he has been excellent and has become an Argentina international, which is why the Friulians are asking for €25-30million.

Alex Meret is also on the wish list as he is not particularly happy at Napoli. The former SPAL star has seen his playing time decrease this season as Gattuso has used Ospina, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will not sell him cheap.

Finally, Pierluigi Gollini of Atalanta is a target for Milan, apparently valued at around €20million with a salary well within reach.
