MN: Milan hoping to welcome 4-5 new signings – Maldini probing the ground with agents

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are working on multiple fronts to try and give head coach Stefano Pioli the best possible squad ahead of the new season.

After having invested a lot and worked well in some departments, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have yet to complete the squad with some obvious gaps still to be filled. MilanNews writes that for the most important additions it will be necessary to wait a few more days, when there will be opportunities for the end of the market, but there are at least four or five signings to be made.

First of all a quality attacking midfielder is being sought to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, as well as a right winger to alternate with Alexis Saelemaekers. A central midfielder is wanted for the double pivot given Kessie and Bennacer’s AFCON commitments, while finally a right-back and a young third striker could join too.

The management is committed to probing agents and executives to get the most out of the window, but after seven years of absence from the Champions League, Milan hopes to go as far as possible in the competition and to earn a top four finish again.
